2010 College Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings
There is very little difference in finding a solid kicker in college fantasy then in NFL fantasy. You need someone who will get attempts, and convert them. One wrinkle to keep in mind in college are the wild variations in the range seen among kickers. Some will see opportunities from 50 yards, and some won’t get a crack at anything beyond 35. So not all conversion percentages are created equal like in the NFL where all kickers typically posses enough leg strength for their teams to at least give them opportunities from longer distances.
College Fantasy Coach’s top kicker heading into 2010 is Grant Ressel of Missouri. The Tigers’ kicker missed one kick all season in 2009, converting all 39 extra points and hitting on 26 of 27 field goal tries including the game winner against border war rival Kansas which lead to him being carried off the field by his teammates. Every kicker’s dream.
