Announcing Immortals: Jack Fleming

Players come and go, especially at the collegiate level, but announcers seem to last forever.

One such announcer is Jack Fleming–the voice of the  West Virginia University Mountaineers.  Even if you never listened to WVU’s Fleming, you’ve surely heard his voice.  Fleming was the man calling the action for the Pittsburgh Steelers during Franco Harris’s Immaculate Reception.

Jack Fleming is an icon in college football. 

Listen to Fleming introduce a West Virginia-Penn State game and you’ll understand why he’s one of the greatest of all time.
