FLASHY TAILBACK

If you don’t follow the MAC Conference, you probably know little about Kent State’s Eugene Jarvis.

Eugene Jarvis will be a 1400 yard rusher this year for Kent State.

Eugene Jarvis will be a 1400 yard rusher this year for Kent State.

But, take a look at the stats and you’ll see why Jarvis should be on your radar for the 2009 College Fantasy Football draft.  Jarvis, entering his senior season, has 3,268 career yards for the Golden Flashes.  That ranks him behind only Southern Mississippi’s Darren Fletcher among career yardage leaders in college football.

Eugene Jarvis is coming off of an injury plagued 2008 season where he rushed for a career low 801 yards in nine games.  But, don’t let that fool you; Jarvis sat out several games with a high ankle sprain and wasn’t at peak performance in some that he did play in.

“I’m ready to go,” said Jarvis.  “Everyone has to go through adversity and now I”m hopefuly I’m going to go out on top.”

Adversity is something that Jarvis has faced his entire career.  Being just 5′ 5″, Jarvis wasn’t given much chance to play past high school until Kent State coach Doug Martin gave him the opportunity.

“When you watched his high school film, it was a highlight reel,” said Martin.

College Fantasy Coach’s analysis of Eugene Jarvis for the 2009 fantasy college football season is that he’s a guaranteed 1000+ yard running back this year.  Jarvis will be the feature of the Kent State offense.  We project Jarvis getting 1400 yards on the ground and scoring 16 touchdowns for the Golden Flashes. Jarvis will also return kicks so if your league counts returns, that’s an added bonus for Jarvis.

Pick Eugene Jarvis in the upcoming college fantasy football draft.  You won’t come up short.
