Tulsa’s Johnson College Fantasy Football Week 2 MVP
Each week, College Fantasy Coach will take a look at the top players in college fantasy football. * - Weekly fantasy points are based on standard scoring totals from CBSSports.com. Your week 2 college fantasy football player of the week is:
David Johnson, Quarterback, Senior, Tulsa Golden Hurricane
- Week 1 Points: 59*
- Stats: 25 completions, 430 total yards, 7 touchdowns
Johnson is the kind of college fantasy football quarterback that we love at College Fantasy Coach. Conference USA has many talented quarterbacks (including last week’s MVP, Chase Clement of Rice) and a ton of wide open offenses. There are going to be a lot of points scored by quarterbacks and players in this conference, especially once conference play opens up.
In his first year as Tulsa’s signal caller, Johnson is off to a great start. After putting up 31 fantasy points on 20 completions, three touchdowns and 332 yards against UAB last week, Johnson exploded in week 2 against North Texas. On only 25 completions, Johnson threw for 418 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also put up 12 yards on the ground and scored another touchdown with his feet.
Brennan Mason was Johnson’s top target in week 2, scoring 16 fantasy points with 4 catches, 107 yards, and receiving 1 of Johnson’s 6 passing scores.
Johnson is a very intelligent player with a strong arm and good understanding of the offense. Through two games this season, Johnson is the top scoring player in all of college fantasy football. His 90 total points have come on 45 completions, 767 yards and 10 touchdowns.
After his performances the first two weeks of the season, he is a must-start in college fantasy football.
